My faith has really been tested lately......
For the past week, God has been calling me to do something that is way of my comfort zone. Last Wednesday, he called me to read the book of Jeremiah and go live on Facebook to talk about each chapter as I was studying it. When I first started reading Jeremiah, I instantly tried to back away from talking about it with everyone. I kept trying to justify why it would not be a good idea for me and trying to get God to change his mind and have me teach another book of the Bible.
Our God is all-knowing, almighty, and always has a purpose when he calls us to do something. He doesn't make mistakes. He isn't going to just say "oopsie, I told you the wrong thing. Do this instead" like I was wanting him to do. So for days, my mind and my heart were battling because I wanted to be faithful to the calling that God put on my heart, but I couldn't understand why he had called me to do it. And just when I felt like I was at my wits' end, God gave me a totally different perspective on everything and I just gave him my whole heart and started trusting him completely.
I still don't fully understand why I've been called to do this, but I now know that I don't need to. I have to just have faith that God is in complete control, and just follow through with what he has called me to do. I know that God's got me and that I just have to keep my ears, mind, and heart open to listen to his commands.
I know there is someone out there that has also been having their Faith tested lately too, so I'm going to share the 5 things that I implemented (and am still implementing) to help me to stay faithful to the calling that God has placed on my heart.
Here are the 5 Things to Implement to Help You When Your Faith Is Being Tested:
1. Pray
- Pray with your whole heart pray for guidance, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to know exactly what to do and for God to use you as a vessel for his work.
- Also in this prayer, pray for the strength and courage to do whatever he commands of you, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.
2. Let Go
- Let go of your anxiety, fear, worry, doubt, and just give it all to God.
3. Rest and Relax
-Take a step back and just unwind.
- Take a bubble bath, watch Netflix for a bit, talk to someone that inspires you, whatever it is that you want to do to just be able to rest and relax for a bit.
4. Open Your Heart, Your Ears, and Your mind to What God is telling you
- Pay attention and listen to what God is saying, without questioning it.
5. Trust Him and Give Him Your Whole Heart
- Pray to him, talk to him, tell him that he has your whole heart and ACTUALLY give it to him.
- Ask him to speak truth into you. To give you the words and knowledge and understanding and just trust with your whole heart that he will give you that clarity that you've been searching for.
If you've been having your faith tested lately, implement these 5 things and I know they will help you just like they’ve helped me
I pray that you have peace knowing that God is in complete control and faith that his will be done. I pray that you open up your heart, ears, and mind to the Lord and the calling that he is placing on your heart. I pray that you trust in him completely and you know that he's got you. Amen.
Never forget to choose faith over fear.
