Have you felt like God told you He was going to do something in your life, and He hasn't done it yet?
Are you waiting on promises from God?
Has God told you to do something, and you are struggling with it?
Trust me when I tell you... I've been there.
In today's episode, I will be going over how God always provides, comes through, and fulfills His promises to us. I will be pairing this with prayer, scripture, and a story time.
First, I want to say a quick prayer: "LORD, I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. Please open our eyes, ears, hearts, and minds to you, LORD. Holly Spirit consume me, move me to do the will of God the Father, and work through me to make an impact in other people's lives. I pray that whatever it is that each person is supposed to receive from this episode, that they receive it and implement it in their daily lives. I love You with every ounce of my being. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Now let's get into some scripture:
"Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Moses then summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land the Lord swore to give to their ancestors. You will enable them to take possession of it. The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” -Deuteronomy 31:6-8
"After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’s assistant: “Moses my servant is dead. Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the land I am giving the Israelites. I have given you every place where the sole of your foot treads, just as I promised Moses. Your territory will be from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great river, the Euphrates River—all the land of the Hittites—and west to the Mediterranean Sea. No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, for you will distribute the land I swore to their ancestors to give them as an inheritance. Above all, be strong and very courageous to observe carefully the whole instruction my servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go. This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to meditate on it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
-Joshua 1:1-9
So I know I've talked about Moses bringing the Israelites out of Egypt and them going to the promised land, but before that, they were in the desert, and He gave them the manna from heaven, and all these different things happened. Now, here in the book of Joshua, we see that Moses is dead and Joshua will be the one to bring the Israelites to the promised land. The LORD always fulfills His promises. Whenever He says He is going to do something, no matter how long it takes, it will get done. One important thing that we need to remember is not to delay our promises like the Israelites did. Whenever God tells us that He is going to do something and He wants us to do something, we have to be obedient. We have to stand firm in our faith. There will be a time of testing, famine, and times where we are in the waiting period or the "wilderness," and we have to make sure we are standing firm and being obedient to what God is telling us, and we are focusing on Him through every aspect of our lives.
So, a little story time... you may already know that I am going on a mission trip to Peru. I made an episode about it, so if you didn't listen, you can check it out here. God had put it on my heart to go, so I signed up and had to raise funds to go. I had to raise $3,450 by April 1st. With $1,165 left to go and 2 weeks before the trip, I was a little stressed when no donations were coming in, but God provided at the last minute. I just had to be obedient. More things happened in between, but I have raised all of the funds by the grace of God. To listen to the full story, click here.
Also, I just wanted to thank everyone who donated towards my mission trip. I will forever be grateful to you. Please continue to pray for me and everyone who will be going on the mission trip, and the lives that will be changed while we are there.
Sometimes, we just have to be tested, and we have to make sure we stand firm in our faith. I had to come on here and share this story because I know one of you reading this is going through it. God has promised you something, and He also told you to do something, and you are struggling. I want to let you know right now, the last thing that God told you to do, be obedient. Even though it may not make sense. Even though you may not know how you are going to do it, if you know so strongly in your Spirit that God told you to do something, you have to be obedient. Otherwise, you will just delay the promise, just like the Israelites did. God will come through. I am living proof and a living testimony that God always comes through and provides; we just have to make sure we are standing firm.
Here are a few other scriptures:
"How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night." -Psalm 1:1-2
"But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was. But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works—this person will be blessed in what he does." -James 1:22-25
So, we have to be doers of the word. We can't just hear the word that God is saying to us. We can't just read the Bible and not do what it says. Whenever God tells us to do something, we have to do it. We need to take delight on his instruction and meditate on it.
"I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the city gates of their enemies. And all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring because you have obeyed my command.” -Genesis 22:17-18
This was right after Abraham had gone to sacrifice his son because the LORD told him to. The LORD ended up telling him not to sacrifice his son, but because we was obedient and was going to do the unthinkable, the LORD blessed him. Even though what God is telling you to do may not make any sense, you have to make sure you are being obedient to the LORD.
The LORD is the most important, and we cannot put anything over Him. Whatever the LORD is asking you to sacrifice or to do, you have to make sure you are being obedient. The LORD is the Almighty, He's gracious, loving, powerful, compasssionate, omnipresent, omniscient, the most high, and most wonderful. The LORD will always provide, come through, and fulfill His promises to us; we just have to make sure we are being obedient, standing firm in our faith, and not giving up.
So I hope this episode helped you guys to realize that God always provides and always fulfills His promises. We have to make sure we are being obedient, standing firm in our faith, and not delaying our promises from the LORD. That is it for today's episode. Next week, we will go over the importance of fixing our eyes on Jesus during the storms of life, so make sure you stay tuned for that.
I love you guys so much.
Never forget to choose faith over fear.
