Growing Through the Pain of Trials & Tribulations. 3 Things to Implement

This episode is about facing trials and tribulations and growing through the pain of those. I pair this with prayer, scripture, and 3 things to implement.

First I want to say a quick prayer... Lord, I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. I pray that you open up our eyes, our ears, our minds, and our hearts to you Lord. I pray that you lead, guide, and direct us through every aspect of our lives and that whatever it is that each person is supposed to receive from this episode that they receive it and implement it in their daily life. Lord,

I can't thank you enough for all of the amazing things that you've done and all of the not-so-amazing things that I've gone through in my life that have gotten me to where I am today. I love you with every ounce of my being. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now let's go into some scripture:

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

-James 1:2-4

"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials." -1 Peter 1:6

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." -Romans 12:12

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." -James 1:12

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." -Romans 5:3-5

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?" -Romans 8:35

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." -John 16:33

So in these verses here we see that we're going to have trouble and we're going to have hardships and face all kinds of different trials, but we have to persevere through it, stand firm in our faith, be patient in affliction, and be joyful because we know that we have Jesus Christ as our Savior and our true home is in heaven. But this doesn't make the pain, the hardships, and the trials that we go through any easier. Sometimes when we're going through these hardships and these trials it can feel like we're never going to make it out of it and there's nowhere to turn like this is it for us, and I just want to let you know that there is hope and you just have to persevere.

Whatever you're going through right now, you just have to hold on to your faith and lean on God every step of the way. You will get through this, you will grow through this, you will be stronger because of it, and it's all a growth process. Sometimes we go through things so that we can have the growth that is necessary to do the next task that God has planned for us. There may be people in our lives, distractions, or things that we're putting before God that we have to get rid of before we can do the next task that God has planned for us and that can be very painful. When you're holding onto something or someone so dearly it can really hurt and be hard to let go of that, but sometimes that's very necessary so we can grow and become the person that we need to become to do the next task or the next calling that God has placed on our hearts.

So here are 3 things to help you to grow through the pain and hardships of life:

I want you guys to write these down and implement them whenever you're facing trials, tribulations, and hardships.

1. Persevere

- Just keep pushing. Keep pushing through the pain.

- I know it may seem impossible and you may be ready to give up or you just don't know what to do, but keep pushing because I promise you if you keep pushing and you continue to just go through the motions, go through the pain, the trials, the tribulations, and all of that, you will get through it, you will grow through it, and you will come out of it stronger.

- So you have to persevere. Get up every day and do the things that you need to do through the pain, through the hardships, all the stuff that you're going through, persevere and just push through it.

- This is easier said than done, but it is very necessary.

2. Hold on to your faith

- Sometimes whenever we're going through hardships, pain, we're suffering, we're grieving, and we don't understand why we're going through what we're going through, it can be easy to put the blame on God.

- It can be easy to think that he just doesn't love us or care for us or think "Why would he do this to us if he was a loving and gracious God?" But it is so important for us to always hold on to our faith and know that God is for us, He's not against us, and the trials and tribulations that we're facing are going to help us grow and become the person that we need to become to fulfill the calling that He's placed on our hearts and to stay fully submitted to His will.

- Also, all of the trials and tribulations that we face will test our faith and we have to make sure that we hold on to it no matter what.

- In our bible study in the Book of Acts, we saw that the apostle Paul and other disciples and apostles faced many trials, tribulations, and hardships in the name of Jesus and they held onto their faith, persevered, and did not let anything sway them from the truth of Jesus Christ being our Savior and knowing that God's got them no matter what hardships they face. They were fully submitted to the will of God the Father, no matter what persecution or hardships they were going to face.

- We also saw in our Bible studies from the book of John all of the hardships that Jesus faced, he was crucified, beaten, and died on the cross for our sins. In Luke

chapter 22 Jesus even prayed to God the Father and he said in verse 42: "Father,

if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." He knew that he was going to be crucified and that he was going to have to die on the cross for our sins, and he said if there was any way to take the cup from him to take it, but he was still fully submitted to the will of God the Father and he knew that it was necessary for him to die on the cross to forgive us of our sins so that we can have eternal life in heaven.

- So whatever hardship you're facing, whatever pain, trial, or tribulation that you're facing, make sure that you hold on to your faith, stand firm in that faith, know that God's got you. There is a reason that you're going through this right now and you will grow through this if you just persevere and hold on to your faith.

3. Lean on God every step of the way

- All 3 of these steps go hand in hand because it's going to be hard to persevere,

to push through the pain, and to hold on to your faith, If you're not leaning on God

every step of the way.

- God is always right here with us and he will give us the strength that we need to grow through whatever hardship that we're facing, we just have to lean on him, ask him for guidance and know that he has our best interests at heart.

- So when we are going through pain, trials, and tribulations, what are some ways that we can lean on God?

  1. We can pray to him, ask him for guidance, and ask for everything that we need to grow through this period of suffering, grief, trials, tribulations, and all the pain that we're going through.

  2. We also have to put our hope and our trust in him and know that he has plans for us that are greater than anything that we could ever fathom and we just have to continue to push through this so we can make it on the other side to see the other plans that he has for us.

  3. Another way we can lean on God is by letting the Holy Spirit guide us and just going wherever God tells us to go.

No matter how scary or hard it may seem, or no matter what hardship we're facing, we have to push through, hold on to that faith, and just go wherever God wants us to go. There is not a moment that you are alone in the hardship that you face. God is always right here, you just have to reach out your hand and he will guide you, direct you, and give you the strength and everything that you need. Once you get through that pain and hardship and you look back at it, you will see the growth. You're not going to realize it when you're going through it. When you're growing through that you're not going to realize it, but when you look back you're going to be like, "Wow, I've grown so much since I've gone through that hardship that I was facing at the moment."

So I hope this episode helped you guys to know that pain, suffering, and all of that is just a growth process. I also hope that whenever you are facing trials and going through pain that you take the 3 things that we went over today and you implement them.

I love you guys so much.

Never forget to choose faith over fear.
