Throughout this journey of losing weight and learning to be more healthy, I have come across some great foods that are so good for you. These 5 foods are some of my favorite foods and have helped me to lose weight.
The 5 best foods to help you lose weight are:
1. Eggs
I eat eggs a lot for brunch. They are so good and keep me full for a few hours. They are a good source of protein and very nutritious.
According to Medical News Today, "In a small study of 21 men, researchers compared the effects of eating eggs or eating a bagel for breakfast on food intake, hunger, and satisfaction. They found that men who had eaten the egg breakfast ate significantly less for their next meal, and in the following 24 hours, than those who had eaten the bagel breakfast. They also reported feeling less hungry and more satisfied 3 hours after breakfast than those who had eaten the bagel."
2. Broccoli
I love Broccoli. It is so good and so great for you! According to the Cleveland Clinic, Women should be be consuming about 25-30 grams of fiber per day. One of the easiest (and best ways in my opinion) to do that is to fill up your plate with Broccoli. There are 16 grams of fiber per bunch of Broccoli.
3. Watermelon
Watermelon has become one of my favorite foods and snack of all time. It is so delicious (especially with Tajin and Valentina on it.)
According to SELF, Watermelon is a juicy and delicious way to make sure you’re staying hydrated—a key factor in weight loss for various reasons. When you’re drinking enough water, all your systems (including your metabolism) are better able to work at their maximum capacity, Shawn Talbott, Ph.D., a nutritional biochemist, told SELF in a previous article. Plus, proper hydration prevents you from confusing thirst for hunger, which can lead you to overeat throughout the day. Also, 1 cup of Watermelon only contains 46 calories.
4. Almonds
Almonds are a great snack and are so good for you.
According to Health, Almonds are a great source of mono- and polyunsaturated fats, which can help lower your cholesterol and keep you slim. They also have plenty of fiber and vitamin E.
5. Black Beans
Black Beans have become of one my favorite carbs to use for dinner. I usually will put them with chicken and veggies in a skillet or just with veggies and no chicken. They are so delicious and packed with nutrients.
According to Health Magazine, "Black beans are a member of the pulse family, a food group that's been shown to help burn calories, reduce belly fat, and curb appetite. Just one cup of black beans packs 15 grams of protein without the saturated fat you often find in other high-protein sources, such as red meat."
If you are trying to lose weight or just learning to eat more healthy, don't forget to include these foods when preparing your meals. You won't regret it.
