In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 43 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 47 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.
Day 43 Scripture:
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'"
-Hebrews 13:5
Day 43 Devotional:
"The love of money is the love of worldly things. We can't take our money with us when we come home to our Heavenly Father. The Lord is always right here with us and will never leave. We should be content with what we have right now, and with the knowledge that the Lord our Savior is always by our side and has our best interests at heart. When we feel stressed about materialistic things or finances, we can pray to God and be content in knowing that He's got us and He is already working in our favor. Materialistic things and money are temporary, but God is forever and His love for us is never-ending."
So as disciples of Jesus Christ and as believers, we have something much greater than money. We have God by our side, and He says that He will never leave or forsake us. He gives us the Holy Spirit to guide and counsel us and He gives us strength and provides us with everything that we need to grow through life. This world is full of love of money and materialistic things, but we are set apart from this world. Our true home is in heaven with Jesus and God the Father. We cannot be consumed with this world or get conformed to this world, and we cannot let the love of money in our hearts. Money should only be used as a tool for us to further the calling that God has placed on our hearts and for us to be able to live and do good. We should never hold money to such a high standard to ever have it even close to God in our lives. It's so important for us to be thankful and grateful for everything that God has given us and know that He will provide for us more than we could ever imagine and that may not be money or materiistic things, but He gives us a full and abundant life and we have eternal life in heaven with Jesus and God the Father and that is the greatest gift of all.
I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:
So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.
Today’s Prayer:
"Lord, I know that You are always right here with me and You will never leave me. Thank You for always being here and for the never-ending love that You have for me. When I start to stress over worldly things I know that I can lean on You, give it all to You, and have faith that You have my best interests at heart. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Today's journal questions:
Am I content with the things that God has given me?
How can I be free of the love of money?
What are some times in my life when it was apparent that God was right here with me, even when I didn't notice Him at first?
"What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?" -Mark 8:36
So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day 44, so make sure you stay tuned for that.
I love you guys so much.
Never forget to choose faith over fear.
