Have you ever asked God for guidance and then just did the thing that you wanted to do without being sure if he answered you or not?
Or maybe you ask God for guidance and then you never got an answer?
Maybe you wanted clarity on making a decision that you wanted to do, and you didn't get an answer on that so you just thought that God wasn't listening.
Here's the truth...
God is always listening and he's always right here with you, but sometimes his answer is for you to just be still. In his perfect timing, he will guide you into the path to fulfill the purpose that he has for you.
If your anything like me, being still is so difficult to do, but sometimes it's very necessary to be able to really focus on our relationship with God and what it is that God wants us to do, instead of always doing what we want to do or what we think is best for our life.
Sometimes, in the middle of your hustle and bustle, when the things that you're doing are no longer serving your bigger purpose or no longer getting you in the right direction to fulfill the purpose that God has for you, he will direct you to be still, to let go of the things that are no longer serving you, and to just focus on him and let him guide you through every step of the way. That's exactly what happened to me. Listen to my full story about that here.
A few months ago I had this overwhelming sense to just be still. This was something that was very difficult for me because I've always been one of those people that's just on the go, especially the past couple of years of doing network marketing and being in the hustle and bustle of network marketing and having these different businesses, I didn't think being still was an option for me. the closer that I got to God and the more I strengthened my relationship with him, I was asking him for guidance, praying to him, and studying my Bible, the more overwhelming the sense of being still got for me.
Here is a Bible verse that popped in my head quite often:
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." -Psalms 46:10
For the past few months, I have been really just focusing on studying my Bible, I've been doing these Bible studies on Jeremiah with you guys, I've been praying to God and talking to him throughout my day, I've been coming on here almost every week and helping you guys with fulfilling the purpose that God has for you, with your mental health, your mindset, and knowing the truth about God's word and I've just been really focusing on my relationship with God.
I had completely stopped network marketing, which was huge for me because I've been doing that since January of 2018. I had built up these teams, I was making a full-time income with this, and there was just a lot to it. I was very invested in these online businesses, but when God tells you to be still and to let him guide you, you have to listen to that.
I'm on here today because I know that someone right now reading this is going through the same thing that I went through a few months ago. You're doing all of these things and you're investing so much time in these things that are no longer serving you. You feel like you're drowning because you just don't know where to turn. You're constantly getting stressed out and not knowing what decisions to make. You're constantly needing clarity, and you have this overwhelming sense to just stop it all and just be still, but you don't know how to do that because being still is very difficult for you. Or maybe you feel like it's not an option for you to be still because you need the income of the thing, whatever it is that is stressing you out, you feel like you need it.
So I'm going to give you three steps to help you to be still and to let God guide you:
1. Pray
- I'm not talking about just praying right before you go to bed, or if you need something. I'm talking about hardcore, praying to God.
- Ask him for guidance, for knowledge and wisdom, and let him know that he has all of you, that your ears, your eyes, your heart, your body, and your spirit is open to him. That he has all of you, to use you as a vessel for his work, to guide you in the right direction to know exactly what to do to fulfill the purpose that he has for you.
- You want to be so intentional with this prayer and with these prayers because you're going to need to pray more than once about this. You're going to need to pray about this constantly.
2. Listen
- silence all the noise in your head.
- When I'm trying to silence the noise in my head, I pray to God and ask him to silence that for me. It's super difficult when thoughts are racing through your mind and you're trying to listen, you're trying to pay attention, but your mind is won't be silent, so you may need to pray that prayer for God to silence your mind and just listen.
- When you're saved, and you have the Holy Spirit within you, that spirit will guide you to make the right decision.
- Sometimes that tug on your heart, that you feel like you're being led to do something, is the Holy Spirit trying to guide you and direct you in the right path or trying to get you to stop doing something that's not in alignment with your God led calling and the purpose that God has for you.
- It's so important to listen to your heart and to listen to that spirit, the Holy Spirit, telling you what it is that you should be doing because 9 times out of 10 if you can just get your mind quiet just for a minute and really focus on what God wants you to do and listening, the Holy Spirit will give you the answers.
3. Study Your Bible
- A lot of people feel like they don't hear from God or they can't hear the words of God, but we literally have the Bible with God's words in them.
-Studying our Bible and truly knowing the truth about God's word is so important. If you don't know where to start, I would just pray for wisdom and knowledge.
- You can also check out my Bible studies on Jeremiah. I have chapters one through 15 on my YouTube channel. I also have chapters 14 through 21 on my podcast.
So those are the three steps to be still and let God guide you.
Don't hesitate to let go of things that are no longer serving you. I know it may seem very difficult and like it's the end of the world if you let these things go. Trust me when I say I get it. That's exactly how I felt a few months ago, whenever I had that overwhelming sense to let go of my network marketing companies.
God has a purpose for everything and when he closes one door, two more are gonna open. he's just molding you into the person that you need to become to fulfill the purpose that he has for you. When the time is right, in His perfect timing, he will guide you and lead you to do something that is better than you've ever done before and that is in alignment with your bigger purpose and it's gonna feel amazing. That's what he's doing with me now.
I may do another blog post or at least tell you guys about it in another post, but I did just start a new network marketing company with the guidance of God. I did a lot of praying, soul searching, and making sure that this felt right, and that it was exactly what God wanted me to do to be able to continue my God led calling and fulfill the purpose that he has for me. I am so excited about this new journey and I can't wait to share everything with you guys.
I love you guys so much.
I'm going to say a prayer for you guys. Lord, I pray that you are with every single person reading this right now. Lord, I pray that you open up their eyes, their ears, their hearts, their spirit, their body, and their mind to you. I pray that you silence their minds so they can focus on you and be still and let you guide them. I pray that you let them know that you are right here with them and they just have to rely on you, lean on you, be still and listen to their heart, and to the Holy Spirit within them telling them exactly what it is that they should be doing. I pray that they have the knowledge, understanding and wisdom to know the difference between what you want them to do and what they want to do, because those may be two completely different things. I love you so much, Lord. In Jesus's name. Amen.
