In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 28 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 62 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.
Day 28 Scripture:
"Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal." -Isaiah 26:4
Day 28 Devotional:
"The Lord is our rock and our help in times of need. Our trust should always be in Him. It is important for us to build our house (or our life) on the Rock (on Jesus.) Whenever we put the Lord first in our lives then everything else will fall into place. The Lord is our firm foundation and He will give us everything that we need to do all that He has planned for us and to stand strong in times of trouble. He will never leave nor forsake us and He will always be our Rock. So today and forever let's put all of our trust in the Lord."
I'm going to go ahead and put the scripture that is at the bottom of the journal page because I want to talk about it:
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." -Matthew 7:24
In this scripture this is Jesus Christ speaking to others saying that the words that He is speaking to them, His teachings, His parables, if people are listening to it and they are putting His words into practice then they are like the wise man who built his house on the rock. Our Rock is Jesus Christ, we have to build our house (or our life) on Jesus. He is our firm foundation. Whenever we are implementing His teachings, following Jesus, and seeking to live and have a heart like Him, then we have that firm foundation. So whenever troubles come, worries come, chaos enters our lives, and inevitable things happen in our lives, we have that firm foundation where we can stay steady. We have that strong Rock (Jesus Christ) and even if it feels like everything around us is crumbling we will be able to stand firm in our faith and not crumble like everything else around us. If you have some time today, I recommend you read all of Matthew chapter 7 and reflect on it today.
I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:
So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.
Today’s Prayer:
"Lord thank You for being my Rock and for never leaving me. Thank You for giving me strength in times where I feel weak. Lord thank You for all that You've done and will continue to do for me. Today and forever I will put my trust in You, Lord. Amen."
Today's journal questions:
What happens when I put the Lord first in my life?
How can I gain strength when I feel weak?
Based on scripture, what should we build our house (or our life) on?
So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day 29, so make sure you stay tuned for that.
I love you guys so much.
Never forget to choose faith over fear.
