How Can We Be Holy? Daily Devotionals in "Christ Transforms Me." Day 21 of 90.

In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 21 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 69 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.

Day 21 Scripture:

"Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." -1 Peter 1:13-16

Day 21 Devotional:

"As Believers of Jesus Christ, it is important to prepare our minds through prayer and Bible study, to be self-controlled, and to stand firm in our faith. When Jesus Christ comes back from heaven, He will bring his people back with Him and we will see his glory. We are God's children and should be obedient to His commands and be fully submitted to His will. When we are saved by Jesus Christ we have the Holy Spirit within us, and it's important for us to let the Holy Spirit guide us and reveal the fruit of the Spirit in our hearts."

Here at the end of the scripture that we just read, the verse that he is referring to is in Leviticus chapter 20. So, let's go ahead and read Leviticus 20:7-8.

“‘Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy." -Leviticus 20:7-8

In this scripture the LORD is saying that we need to be holy because the LORD our God is holy, and He makes us holy. In the Bible that I'm reading from, besides the word "holy" is the letter d, which on the notes it says, "or who sanctifies you or who sets you apart as holy." So, the LORD our God sets us apart as holy, and we have to be holy because He is. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are no longer of this world. We are not from this world, our true home is in heaven, and we are set apart from this world. We have the light of light in us, just like we read back I think in day 9 of this journal about Jesus being the light of the world and us having the light of life in us. We cannot live the way that we did whenever we were in ignorance before we knew God. Now that we know Jesus Christ and we are saved by Him, we have to live our lives according to that. We have to seek to be more like Jesus and live and have a heart like Him. This doesn't mean that we are going to be perfect, but we have the Holy Spirit within us, we have the Bible, we have all of the tools that we need, and we have God to guide us. We can pray to God the Father anytime to ask for guidance and we are saved by Jesus Christ.

I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:

So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.

Today’s Prayer:

"Lord help me to stand firm in my faith and be self-controlled. Please reveal the fruit of the Spirit in my heart and guide me every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Today's journal entry is a free write:

Write down whatever comes to your mind.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." -Galatians 5:22-23

So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day 22, so make sure you stay tuned for that.
